Thanks to our Gabbi, Stan Perlman, for the synopsis
of each Torah portion.
The book of
D'varim, Deuteronomy,
is the fifth and final book of the Torah.
It is Moshe's farewell address,
his ethical will to the people he has lead for over forty years.
Moshe's recounting of the Torah has the purpose of instruction
to convey law as well as teachings that must be studied and pondered,
with the intention of molding character, establishing virtues,
and making goodness and holiness habitual.
